Lady Bug Larvae...who knew? Not me?

Sawyer is going through a bug thing. Obsessed with finding them. I love it! Today, walking home from school, he'd fallen in love with this Rolly Polly. And then it escaped. So sad! 

But then, the big find...a ladybug larvae. I thought he was crazy. But we looked it up and sure enough!

My Education

"Mom, you know how you're not as smart as me and Ridge on Star Wars? Well, I'm going to help you." 

We're cuddling in the "big bed" since its  just the two of us this weekend, which has been fun. He "helped" me work in the yard and killed it in baseball. And I made his favorite meal, chicken and waffles.

His first sign on the door...content is especially strange coming from the boy who loooooves a good evening visit and doing anything other than going to bed like he's supposed to.

Rain rain go away

We are going to start building an ark for Memorial Day fun. 

Both baseball leagues are trying to make up games that've been canceled due to rain for two straight months so we're schlepping around to muddy mosquito infested fields on week nights. I'm OVER it. And so is Sawyer who slipped in a slimy mud puddle and busted his butt earlier this week.

Fancy

We stayed in a really nice place on our way to CO...5-star Starwood property in Santa Fe called La Posada. We had a spacious room, with a fireplace in the living room which was seperate from the bedroom and had a great pool. It was cool!

On our way home, we stayed in an itty bitty little town in West TX at the Holiday Inn. We told the boys it was no Santa Fe...not so fancy. Sawyer spent the whole time pointing out all the ways it was as fancy as the Santa Fe place."See those flowers? That's fancy! See that bird cage? That's fancy!" It was a lovely place, no doubt.
